Third Century Santa Claus

Santa Claus has been around for centuries; It was believed Santa Claus was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara in modern day Turkey. The legend of Santa can be tracked down hundreds of years ago to a monk named St. Nicholas and became the subject of many legends. St. Nicholas was a bishop who lived in the fourth century in a place called Myra in Asia Minor now called Turkey. He was a very rich man because his parents left him behind with large sums of money when he was a kid. He was said to die on December 6, A.D. 342 and that day is celebrated as feast day.
