Kentucky’s Only Abortion Clinic Debates Buffer Zone

Blocking the entrance to a clinic was made a federal offense in the 1990’s after blockades and violence towards providers became a common practice among fundamentalists. The act means that the 11 offenders could spend up to one year in jail. It also means that a judge from the state was able to ask for a preliminary injunction for a buffer zone during the group’s conference. During the event, hundreds of protestors did go into the city. Many of them protested at the clinic but they also went to the doctor’s homes and passed out fliers with the doctors’ addresses on them.
