Kentucky’s Only Abortion Clinic Debates Buffer Zone

National news headlines focused on women’s rights in Kentucky over a weekend in July when an anti-abortion Christian fundamentalist group held a national convention in Louisville. The event is annual. The group, sometimes called an extremist group, is known as Operation Save American. The clinic in Kentucky sees protestors from the group every day of the week and sometimes over 100 people protest outside of the clinic. Although the group has said they don’t promote violence, they did blockade the clinic’s doors in May, in an attempt to stop anyone from attending their appointments. As a result, 11 people were arrested.
